An official of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Philomena Chieshe is to be arraigned by the economic and financial crime commission, EFCC over 35 million Naira missing in her care in Makurdi Benue State.
She had said hilariously and embarrassingly that snake swallowed such amount of money in an office.
Tony Orilade, the commission acting head, media and publicity in a statement said, “Chieshe would be arraigned on Friday alongside five other defendants before Justice Peter A few of a Federal Capital Territory court in Abuja.
The others are to be arraigned are Samuel Umoru, Yakub Jekada, Daniel Ago, Priscilla Ogunsola and Aliyu Yakubu.
The statement read in part, “Chieshe became notorious when she made an outlandish claim that a mysterious snake swallowed about N35m cash arising from the sale of e-JAMB cards in the state.
“The controversial JAMB official is being prosecuted by the EFCC on an eight-count charge, following her refusal to furnish the management of JAMB (with) the exact information on the financial status of JAMB e-cards supplied to the Benue zonal office between 2014 and 2016.
“Chieshe’s action is contrary to Section 139 (a) of the Penal Code Law.”
