Yesterday was a dream come through for the former super eagles’ coach who took the Nigeria senior team to their first ever world cup campaign and finished in the second round, he also won the first away African nations cup for the country, as he received his 25 years old promise from the Nigeria government.

The honourable minister and former Lagos State governor of Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) said the event was evidence that the Buhari led administration is “committed to putting right the wrongs of yesterday and redressing all forms of yesterday’s injustice”.

Late General Sani Abacha promised to allocate a house each to the winning team of 1994, but he could not redeem it.

The Dutch-born coach took the 1994 Super Eagles to their First World Cup competition, and they finished in the second round. He also took them to their first away Afcon victory.

After awarding, Westerhof of his reward, he challenged NFF to document the yet to be paid promises given, that at the due time they will respond to it.

Clemens Westerhof said he was surprised and grateful to receive the gift.

“I can stay here (Nigeria) when there is cold in my country, I thank God for the blessing and that I am invited here today to collect my papers”.
