The senior special assistant to the president on National Assembly matters (House of Representative) Mr Umar Yakubu disclose to the journalist on Tuesday that president Muhammadu Buhari has signed into law the Polytechnic amendment bill and the National Institute for security bill.
The amendment will strengthen the Federal Polytechnic Rector’s tenure, the retirement age of staff of the polytechnics as well as the creation of the governing council for the Polytechnics and council membership.
The council will comprise of a five-person panel and a chairman.

The amendment was on the Federal Polytechnic Act Cap 17 of the laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
