The newly sworn governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu had reaffirmed that the repair of the Lagos State Expressway would start this month of June.
The rehabilitation would start from the Mazamaza area of the Expressway of Okokomaiko.
He said once the necessary financial settlement has been done, the work will resume as talk is currently on with the contractors.
He said, “In this month of June, we shall be moving to the site. Work will commence on this road. We will dot the I’s and cross the T’s this week so as to move to the site immediately.”
“We will ensure that we speed up discussions with CCEC and move to the site because work has been abandoned here for almost four years.”
The governor expressed his displeasure to the manner at which the traders and residents of the highway leading to the National Theatre of Mazamaza have become impassable due to the disposal of refuse.
He assures that adequate sanitation would commence in the coming weeks.
Sanwo-Olu said the state government would partner with the Federal Government to find a lasting solution to the deplorable state of Okokomaiko, through Agbara to Seme border end of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
