Shiites Protest El-Zakzaky’s Release

Kaduna was placed on a high tension on Friday afternoon as members of the Islamic movement in Nigeria also called Shiites went to the streets of the state capitol to protest the release of their leader in detention Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife since 2015.

The members of this movement took placards of Sheikh El-Zakzaky’s picture asking for the release of the leaders who have been in detention for the past four years despite the court mandate for his release.

The protesters went about with noise and anti-government song to mark the day of the oppressed.

    The protest became rowdy around 4 p.m. when the Nigeria Police Force arrived the scene to dispatch them.
