The 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Owena Barracks in Akure pledges that they are combative ready to put an end to the kidnapping and banditry disturbing the axis of Ondo state and its neighbours.
This was disclosed on Friday by Brigadier General Zakari Logon Abubakar, the commander of the 32 artillery brigade.
The commander shows his displeasure to the consistent case of kidnapping as it has become a fast-rising business for criminals who use the deep forest as their hiding place and demand a huge amount of money to free their victims.
He disclosed that the military has tender some techniques to put an end to this crime.
Part of the techniques is to launch a “Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad” of the military.
“This squad, which is a special one would be active, mobile and swift in reacting to cases of kidnapping in the states of our jurisdiction and in order to achieve this vigour, they are to mount strategic location on roads, check on passengers and be vigilant to react to any kidnapping.
“We have identified the prone areas where these criminal elements use to perpetuate their evil work. They are bushes in Ondo, Ekiti, and Ibilo that is Kogi State,” he said.
Mr Abubakar said, “he has met with other security Personnel in the state, and they have declared a state of war against kidnapping and will fight it with a full Force”.
