Breaking: Lawan Succeeds Saraki As Senate President

Senator Ahmed Lawan representing Yobe North constituency has been elected as the new Senate President after defeating Ali Ndume, his Major opponent with 79 votes to win the leadership position of the Ninth National Assembly.

According to Muhammad Sani-Omolori who announced the winner, he said 107 senators cast.

Senator Lawan become elected honourable member of the House of Representative in 1999 under APC.

In 2007, he became a senator and had since chair the committee of diversity cadres.
