Newly elected, Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha has established an eight-man committee headed by Dr Abraham Nwankwo as a Financial Advisory Committee that will probe all the financial dealings of the Rochas Okorocha’s administration.
The committee would also review all financial transactions and where necessary carry out a forensic audit, to ascertain sources of funds and the application of same.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the Imo state Government Uche Onyeagocha, the committee has also been given the responsibility of Documenting all revenues generated or subventions and allocations between 2011 and 2019 as well as review the propriety of applications and disbursements of State resources between 2011 -2019.
The state government in the press statement also ordered the committee to review all fund disbursements and applications of State resources to ascertain the propriety of charges levied on accounts, interest payment on loans and deposits where applicable and authorization.
The committee would also review the operations of the Imo State Board of Internal Revenue to recommend appropriate strategies to reposition the agency for better performance and sustained growth.
