Forty-eight teams make up the preliminary qualifiers, were placed into 12 groups.
The First and second-best in the group will qualify for the next edition of AFCON in 2021, to be hosted in Cameroon.
Cameroon will also participate in the qualifiers, though they are the host and already have a spot regardless of where they finish in the table.
