“In the end, that was the choice you made, and it doesn’t matter how hard it was to make it. It matters that you did.” — Cassandra Clare, City of Glass
“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” — J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Harry Potter, #2)
Mind you, this writer believes very strongly in the power of choice! He is a political strategist and analyst who says it plain when it matters and without any selfish political expectation! And he is the least person who will coerce you to make a choice or force you to explore your mindfulness. He’s not into preachment, but he will attempt to advise how to explore our collective mindfulness.
Expeditiously, Senator Dino Melaye may actually win his impending contest for the governorship position in Kogi state. Yes! Dino may constitutionally achieve one of his (in)ordinate political aspirations and ambition.
The ambitious political gymnast Senator Dino Melaye is loquacious, smart and crafty. He is an effervescent political Senator who can smartly tap from the ignorance and greed of the COC (Children of Corruption).
Interestingly, Dino is also a shrewd political junkie! Mark it! Dino may leverage on the ignorance and poverty of the Kogites and voters to rabble-rouse himself to victory. And the rest of our usual nauseating story will be registered again into the ugly and black book of our political history.
Do not underestimate the stark ignorance of the impoverished voters anywhere! Even, including the most highly potent democracy in the world — the United States of America.
Ignorant voters are gullible anywhere in the world. Sociopath politician anywhere knows how to tame, weaponize, manipulate and mentally coerce the midget minds of the electorates to amass protest votes from them. Sociopath politicians are students of Machiavelli’s political abracadabra.
Machiavelli, The Prince’s manuscript is the politicians’ political Bible. They digest—read voraciously from political ingredients contained in the book to win gullible voters. Crafty politicians are always armed with Machiavelli’s book as a prescription for political mockery and expediency.
I am not in doubt, and it’s not impossible to find this resourceful book in the shelves of Dino and other notorious politicians anywhere in the world.
Kogi people are mature enough, but I doubt the maturity of the impoverished electorates to make wise decisions in the face of squalor and economic challenges. This is the reason why this writer will never underestimate the victory or daunting reality of Senator Dino Melaye becoming governor of Kogi State.
Kogi should not, and must not commit political suicide! My egbon Fayose’s clowning tenures in Ekiti State will be a child play compare to Dino if he succeeds in his political megalomania and grandiosity! Kogi people can actually avoid another theatre of the absurd in the confluence of the state.
People of like-mind like my contemporary patriot Dr Sunday Iwalaiye can challenge the political clownishness in Kogi. So many resourceful political materials abound in the Confluence State.
Poor Kogites! Kogi is in-between the devil and the deep blue sea! Kogi is now in quandary of leadership’s inertness and inefficiency. The choice of Kogites for Yahaya Bello or Dino Melaye is like contemplating political suicide with amorous political prostitutes.
My message from the three-wise men from Ekiti to all the three-wise men in Kogi state is to take a cue from the burden of history and explore their collective conscience and mindfulness. But sadly, Nigerian history is brutally repetitious!
Ultimately, only Kogi’s voters will save the collective being of Kogites and Kogi from these two necessary political gymnasts. Did you say Kogi has entered this ONE CHANCE?
“No be me talk am oooo…!” Only time will tell if Kogi people have morphed from ignorance to cultivation of ideas in order to yield the wisdom of the three-wise-men in their inner rooms (their conscience and consciousness). (Un)fortunately, we are in the age of reality and choice! The choice we make is the choice we must take! We must also live with it!
To my Kogites yonder, my honest political prescription will be:
Caveat Emptor (Buyers’ beware)!
