The Middle Belt Youth Council has related the threat by the Coalition of Northern Groups to evict the southerners living in the North as an empty threat.
The northern group had earlier said if President Muhammadu Buhari fails to change his decision within 30 days over the suspension of the RUGA settlement, they will expel all southerners in North.
The council also warned the northern group from taking such action.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by its President, Mr Emmanuel Zopmal to the journalists in Jos, Plateau state.
He also called on the Nigerian Police Force not to delay in arresting any members of the Coalition of Northern Groups who want to put this threat to reality.
The statement read in part, “Nigerians should not take Suleiman Abdul Aziz and his co-travellers serious. They do not own any part of the North. They do not represent any northern youth. Southern Nigerians should ignore their type.
“Empty threats have been their stock in trade. They have been using it to raise incomes for themselves. They issued a quit notice to the Igbo in 2017 just to seek relevance among Nigerians.”
