Senator Ahmed Lawan, the President of the Senate, said, “the 9th Senate is committed to tackling the challenges of dilapidated road infrastructure across the country.”
“We will continue to emphasise the need for a functional railway service to ease the burden of transportation on Nigerians.”
He disclosed this while unveiling the Strategic Senatorial Action Plan for the Niger East Senatorial District by Senator Musa Sani in Minna, the Niger State capital on Sunday.
The president of the lawmaker said, “the reason most of the roads in the country do not last long was that they were subjected to pressures beyond their limit.”
“The lawmakers would pressure the Federal Government on the need to pay attention to making the rail system functional.”
He also promised the Niger State government that the 9th Assembly would play its role in ensuring that federal roads in the state were fixed.
