Femi Falana, a respected senior advocate of Nigeria and the lawyer for a pro-democracy campaigner, Omoyele Sowore had approached the Federal high court in Abuja over the delay in hearing the motion filed by his client and to query the continuous and unjustifiable detention.
Falana questioned why the motion filed by the DSS was fixed and heard within two days. Meanwhile, the motion filed by his client has stayed longer than one week.
In response, the presiding judge, Justice Taiwo Taiwo, appealed to him and said the motion would be fixed for a hearing soonest, that he should exercise patience.
Presiding Judge, Justice Taiwo Taiwo, who sighted him from seated at the back, called his name and asked if there was a problem since he was not wearing his robe.
We will be hoping to have a date for the hearing by next week.
