Mr Peter Esele, former Trade Union Congress president and Mr Akpodiogaga Emeyese who is a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, have urged the Nigerian president, President Muhammadu Buhari always to obey and honour the country’s law and adhere to the agreement.
They both advised the president ahead of Nigeria’s 59th Independence anniversary.
They expressed their concern to Buhari led continuous administration disregards to the court’s order.
They told journalists in Benin on Sunday that the president must understand that he’s the President of Nigeria and not that of a particular state.
“Leaders must not have the mindset that their present offices as an extension of self but an opportunity to serve.”
“He must be able to differentiate the State from the person of the president, as the State must be supreme at all times,” Esele said.
