The Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Monday fulfilled the promise which he made in a state broadcast in December 2017 to enrol his child in a government school when he clocks six-year.
His son, Abubakar Al-Sadiq El-Rufai was enrolled by the governor into primary one in Capital School Malali, Kaduna.
After the registration, he told the journalist present that, “his action is part of the revolution to transform public schools in the state in order to make them more competitive.”
“Our priority is to correct the public education and improve its standards which would see private school be a luxury.
He added that “I went to a government school like this, it was very worse then but here I am because of the quality of the teaching I got.
“It is our aim that we ensure all our government-owned schools provide quality education and we appeal to all our senior public servants to bring their wards in public schools.”
