The body in charge of football in Nigeria has disclosed the true perspective on the ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in its federation.
The Nigeria football federation revealed that it’s not strange, that it had started for more than four years and the reason behind this originated from some issues that came up before the 2014 FIFA World Cup and way back before the Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick led administration which started on September 2014.
Explaining the whole misconception, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi who is the 1st Vice President of the NFF, said: “We see it essential to clear the air over the misconception that has polluted the air due to the investigation being newly carried out by the antigraft commission. These investigation has begun way back before our administration in order to put to right some cunning act that has been existing in the federation which is likely to cause ruin to our football.
“We have nothing to hide, we’re open, anyone can be investigated, interrogated and ask for enquiries. We want this notion to be clear to the general public. We are aware that some individuals have been parading the office of EFCC, ICPC and SPIP, so we, therefore, welcome them at any time.”
“We have our records, anyone can check and our financial records are there. Our auditors still remain the well-known PriceWaterhouseCoopers and we always published the audit of our finances.”
“The NFF as a body will always to collaborate with all agencies whenever the need arises.”
