Marco Silva, Everton Manager, said he now knows where Alex Iwobi, the Super Eagles forward can play well.
Iwobi helped Everton won Sheffield on Wednesday with 2-0 to progress to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Iwobi who had to play in an unusual role played behind the striker.
During the post-match interview, the manager said, “the club had disclosed that Iwobi could function more than just being a playmaker but work well as a supporting striker.”
The Everton manager said, “We played a good game tonight (Wednesday), and we can now look forward to Saturday’s game. After signing Alex Iwobi, we believe he could perform well behind a striker, we experimented it tonight, and he gave us a glamorous moment seeing him play there. We’re happy he can play in both positions and do brilliantly.”
“We had a short time to prepare after our weekend game, but we gave our full focus on this match. Since the beginning of the season, we were confident about getting more goals, we’re in three competitions, and we want to win the trophies as well. We’ve shown that tonight.”
“It was essential for Dominic to net twice. He has laboured well to have the goals in important times. This will boost his morale, and we hope he continues week in band week out.
“We had the best of second-half though not creating enough chances. The important thing is that we have moved on to the next phase.”
