Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission has revealed and assured the Nigerians been evacuated from South Africa due to the continuous xenophobia attacks on that the government would give them adequate support.
The first set of those coming from South Africa, about 188 had left through the Air Peace Airline after an eight-hour delay.
Some people were rejected from travelling due to incomplete documentation with their children while about seven were arrested for illegally entering South Africa.
She alighted the plans the government have for them saying, immediately they arrive all the returnees would be given SIM cards, airtime that would last for about two months to assist them in reaching out to their families.
She said, the bank of the industry will give some entrepreneurial programmes and help some commence a new business, there would be stipends to take home as a transportation fee, they will be documented.
“Those that want to get training will decide on what type of training they want with the bank of industry available to help them provide it.”, she added.
