The international friendly match between Zambia and South Africa has been called off due to the recent xenophobic attacks.
Zambia’s football association made this decision following the displeasure of the South African citizen’s attack on Zambians.
The friendly game between the two countries was scheduled to hold on Saturday in Zambia.
The Zambia football association made the statement yesterday (Tuesday) which partly reads:
“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) is displeased to announced to the public that the proposed friendly game between Zambia and South Africa billed for National Heroes Stadium on Saturday, 7 September 2019 has been cancelled over security threats in South Africa.
“Our General Secretary Adrian Kashala has informed the South African Football Association (SAFA) about the decision.”
