One of the top La Liga clubs in Spain, Villarreal are prepared to increase Nigeria young international, Samuel Chukwueze’s basic salary and raise his release clause up to a sum of €60M (about N24bn), to scare off alleged interest from Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
According to reports gathered, the increase will be included in a new long-term contract offer proposed by the Spanish outfit to the young midfielder, adding that his present deal, which ends 2023, has a release clause of €40m (about N14bn).
The Nigeria senior team forward scaled into the club first team last season, and he has rapidly made himself a fans favourite.
The 20-year-old is part of the 23 man list invited ahead of the October 13 friendly against Brazil in Singapore.
He has played in six of Villarreal seven La Liga games so far this season, and he is certain to play a role this season, alongside Santi Cazorla and Pau Torres.
