The Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide has pleaded with IPOB, MASSOB, Biafra Zionist and the Biafra National Council to join hands to promote the unity and peace of Nigeria, calling on the groups to dismiss their secessionist agenda.
According to the statement by Ifeanyi Nwaudunna, the President General of IYA, “United we stand and divided we fall. Division or disintegration of Nigeria will lead to its glory lost, as well as the strength, and diversity, in other words, the future, progress and development of Nigeria will depend on our unity and diversity.”
“IYA Worldwide calls on all Nigerians, most importantly the IPOB, MASSOB, BIAFRA ZIONIST, Biafra National Council and others to come together to support and promote the unity, peace, and progress of Nigeria.”
“We are urging all different Igbo groups to stay away with the spirit and quest of secessionism but engage in the activities and programmes that maintain the country unity and Peace.”
“The reason is that if Nigeria remains as a nation and country, we will be united and remain as one indivisible body; IYA stands on the fact that Nigeria as a Nation has many advantages as a united and progressive body most importantly in the aspect of human and material resources.”
“The Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide, however, urges our brothers and sisters, in the spirit of national unity and patriotism to hide the sword and stop the struggle for secession and disintegration.”
“Rather, we want to fight and demand peaceful co-existence among all Nigerians. We believe Nigeria is the giant of Africa because of its economic, political, military, numerical and technically powers and strength and its diversity over other African countries.”
