The Nigerian born Chelsea striker, Tammy Abraham is willing to embrace a call-up from England anytime the national team coach, Gareth Southgate selects him in his squad ahead of the Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
His decision could affirm Abraham’s international future, ruling out Nigeria’s hopes of convincing him to switch allegiance.
Southgate would name his squad ahead of England’s double-header on Thursday and Abraham is hoping to see if or not his good form for his club, Chelsea will be an added advantage to secure a place in the squad.
Nigeria has since been trying to make Abraham switch allegiance, though he has two senior England caps in friendlies against Germany and Brazil, but he’s yet to officially made his commitment to either county, but it is clear that he prefers to play for England and is ready to accept a call from Southgate if it comes.
Peradventure Abraham plays for England against the Czech Republic or Bulgaria, and then he would be committed to the English side forever because those are European Championship qualifiers.
Abraham has scored seven goals in the Premier League this season which makes him the highest-scoring Englishman in the top flight.
