The body governing football in Africa, Confederation of African Football (CAF), has announced Senegalese official Issa Sy as the referee to officiate next week’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Nigeria and the Benin Republic in Uyo.
The Senegalese referee will be assisted by Nouha Bangoura (assistant referee 1), El Hadji Abdoul Aziz Gueye (assistant referee 2), and Fatou Thioune (fourth official) also from Senegal for the game billed to hold at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, from 5 pm.
Nigeria will field their captain Ahmed Musa who had just returned from injury, alongside defenders Kenneth Omeruo, Abdullahi Shehu, and Bryan Idowu and midfielder Mikel Agu with forwarding Samuel Kalu. They are all making a fresh retuen to the Eagles squad.
The Super Eagles will play their second qualifying match away to Maseru on Friday, 15th November, with the Crocodiles of Lesotho, at the artificial turf of the Maseru-Setsoto Stadium but the event will hold by 6 pm Lesotho time (5 pm Nigeria time) on Sunday, 17th November.
