Ogenyi Onazi Pays Sani Emmanuel’s N14m Sugey Bill

Yesterday (Sunday) Reference Daily News reported an interview with Nigerian born former England player, John Fashanu who said that its difficult to convince Nigerians playing in the diaspora to switch allegiance from their adopted countries to represent Nigeria as a result of the reduced welfare package and negligence of the Nigeria football body when they in problem.

Former U-17 hero, Sani Emmanuel had been suffering from an Achilles tendon injury for some years and couldn’t get the help from the Nigeria government after all he did to make the country proud.

Until Super Eagles player, Ogenyi Onazi came to his rescue and paid a huge sum of N1.4 million to settle for his fee surgery. 

Sani Emmanuel who won the 2009 U17 World Cup Golden Ball has been down with an injury for years.

Ogenyi Onazi were both teammate at the lower level, they play together at Emmanuel FC, then at the U 17 FIFA World Cup in 2009.

He was the best player at the 2009 FIFA U17 World Cup, but due the injury from his Achilles tendonitis, he was forced to quit football.

Due to his inability to settle his bill for surgery, he went on social media to seek for help.

Eventually former Nigeria and Lazio player, Onazi opt to come for his rescue.

In order to show his gratitude, he went on his Instagram page to appreciate Onazi: “I got a call from the doctor that @onaziogenyi has paid 1.4m for my surgery and also transferred 50k for my ticket to Lagos..thank you very much brother May God continue to bless you..the surgery is scheduled f
