Job Title: Farm Manager

Location: Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, Nigeria (with accommodation)

Brief Responsibilities

Our farm managers are responsible for the daily planning, organization, supervision and administration of activities on the farm estates.

Responsibilities Include

•    Organizing sales and purchases of livestock, farm equipment, crops and agricultural products

•    Handling paperwork and keeping administrative records

•    Recruiting, training/instructing and supervising farm workers

•    Making sure that work progresses satisfactorily

•    Keeping an up-to-date knowledge of pests and diseases

•    Ensuring that the farm is profitable and meets projected financial targets

•    Organizing maintenance/repair of farm property, equipment and machinery

•    Advertising and marketing farm products or the work of the farmer.

•    Submission of daily/ weekly report to line manager on farm activities.

•    Ensuring compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards

•    Farming Knowledge:  Precision farming techniques, technology and equipment is an advantage but not a MUST.

Requirements

•    3-5 Years Experience in a similar role

•    In depth experience about farming

•    Ability to meet deadlines.

•    Calm, polite, and professional behavior.

•    Reliable and self-motivated.

Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, Nigeria (with accommodation)

Brief Responsibilities

Job Summary

Our client is searching for a Farm Operations Manager for their business. Primary responsibilities will be to maximize the quality and yield of the various farm crops, while minimizing the cost of inputs. Included is supervision of all farming operations & farm staff, seed processing plant operations and staff, and participation in senior management decision making for the company.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

•    Management of farm operation and seed plant employees as well as contract labor.

•    Mentor for next generation of farm employees.

•    Liaison between farm operations, business office and management.

•    Improve efficiency across operation, increase income/profitability and decrease expenses

•    Be a positive spokesperson and representative of our company in the community.

•    Inspect fields to determine crop maturity, condition, detect disease and insect issues.

•    Direct crop operations such as planning, tilling, planting, fertilizing, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.  

•    Monitor activities such as irrigation, chemical applications and harvesting to ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry/company standards.  

•    Participates in key decision making for company as related to farming and seed cleaning operation.

•    Assist with field and shop work as needed.

•    Maintain paper and/or electronic files for crops and seed plant.

•    Adhere to and follows all safety procedures in accordance with training and reports any dangerous conditions to management immediately.  

•    Maintains financial, operational, production and employment records for farm operations as requested.

•    Attend and participate in company meetings.

•    Performs other duties as assigned.

•    Manage the marketing process online and offline.

Qualifications:  3+ years agricultural and marketing experience

•    Management  & Leadership

•    Management and supervisory experience.

•    Ability to instruct and manage others constructively.

•    Excellent people skills to utilize with staff, owner(s), customers and business partners/vendors

•    Ability to work productively with others as a team leader in a team environment.

•     Ability to lead change in an organization.

• Ability to delegate.

•    Outstanding communication skills required to convey information, gather and disseminate information and problem solve.

•    Proficient at reading, writing, and communication in English.
