Lille president, Gerard Lopez, has admitted that he’s one of the people convincing Victor Osimhen to join Serie A giants, Napoli.
According to report, Lopez convinced Osimhen that he would become a ‘superstar’ if he joined Napoli, who are ‘at the same level as Atletico Madrid’.
Osimhen is leaving Lille this summer after an 18-goal debut season for the Ligue 1 side, which also yielded six assists, and Napoli are making the most headway to sign the forward.
“We’ve received several offers for Victor,” Lopez told La Voix du Nord.
“We’ve exchanged many opinions. We get along and he leads an extraordinary life
“He asked me [where to go] and I gave him the name of the club that I think is best for him, based on his style of play, the coach, and the progress he envisages.”
Although he stopped short of calling the Partenopei that club, the patron made it clear he endorsed a move to the San Paolo.
“Napoli are just below Juve or Barca but are at the same level as Atletico Madrid. If he goes there, he’ll become a superstar for them.
“Having Napoli at your feet must be something in the life of a footballer. Victor has this strength to perform under pressure.”
