Super Eagles Set For Their Fourth AFCON Title Hunt

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will commence their Quest at the 2019 African football cup of the nation with a start against Burundi at the Alexandria stadium in Egypt on Saturday.

The Nigerian team Three-time African champion and are returning to the competition after missing the past two editions.

They qualified as the group leaders with an unbeaten run.
Meanwhile, Odion Ighalo, the Nigerian striker finish as the qualifiers top scorer with seven goals to his Tally.

Nigeria and Burundi had only met once in January 23rd, 1993 at the MKO Abiola stadium in the 2000 AFCON qualifiers game with Nigeria winning 2-0.

Saido Berahino is the biggest star for Burundi, Etebo, the Nigerian midfielder teammate playing for Stoke City in the English championship.

This year African football cup of the nation is the 18th time the Super Eagles will be representing Nigeria with 20 debutants, only Captain Mikel Obi, vice-captain Ahmed Musa and Kenneth Omeruo had played in the competition before and won the match together.
